Search Engines Are the Biggest Goldfish
Ian Lurie Aug 19 2008
Folks keep asking me whether I’m an SEO professional. Not exactly – I’m an internet marketing pro. So why, they ask, do you spend so much time worrying about search rankings, pay per click and keywords?
Let me put it into pictures. Imagine the internet is a goldfish bowl, and traffic is food:
Search engines dominate traffic, customers, conversions and everything else that matters. Design that Flash-only site if you want. Put your text into images because it looks better. But I’ll still laugh at you when you get zero business.
