Definition

SERP stands for search engine results page and refers to the page that shows search results when you type a query into Google, Bing or any other search engine. The SERP is broken into 2 main parts; organic search results and paid advertisements. There are typically two paid ads above the organic search results and two paid ads below it. Depending on the search, a SERP may also include a map with local businesses, a knowledge graph (an excerpt from one web page that attempts to answer a question), and other elements.
